Bankrupt Theater

It's probably time to look for another job. I guess I'm going back to Cali?

Apparently the theater is out of money and cannot pay its portion of the health insurance premium this month. This comes after being told that we needed $50K just to continue operating beyond November.

I mean, aside from the fact that this is really just an overtime-exempt carpenter position disguised as a Technical Director position, aside from the fact that I'm one person in a dept that should have 2 other people in addition to an intern, aside from the fact that it's nearly impossible to build the sets that they want with a $2K budget per show... now there's a possibility that I won't have health insurance?

Oh, and also, aside from the fact that someone on their staff was forced to resign twice for sexual harassment and keeps getting re-hired, despite the victims' protest, despite letters to the board, and despite an interview with the local newspaper. This probably bothers me the most out of all of the issues. But that's a story for another post.

I need health insurance. I have cancer. If I'm left without insurance I'll be back in California, attempting to salvage what I left behind, within two weeks.

Or I might just trade in my truck for a van I can sleep in and just become a gypsy.
