I've been running a lot. It feels really good to finally shake off Winter.

It's strange that when my mood takes a turn for the worse I end up running more. But it is what it is.

The best part is that I've been really careful so I haven't blown out my knee again like last year. In fact, I still feel that injury, but I'm focusing on stretching more than I did previously and I'm babying it a little with a heating pad after a workout. It seems to be doing the trick and I'm already running greater distances than the distance/pace that caused the injury in the first place.

One of the tricks is that I'm refusing to run on paved surface. I found a great, unpaved running/biking path called Forbidden Drive in Wissahickon Valley Park. So, less shock to the knees. I also went to an independent running shop in West Chester where the guy actually watched me walk to analyze how my feet fall, etc, and he recommended shoes for me. I don't know if it's just psychosomatic, but... wow.

Anyway, late for work, gotta go.
