Ugh, this thing is gross, but I think it's finally fading. It's strange that I usually only get sick once or twice every year, but in the last two months I've been sick almost every two weeks. At least it seems that way. Between the weird chest pain, the mystery "stomach bugs," and the couple colds I managed to fight off, I think I'm breaking my own record. 2010: the year of suck.
Yeah, it's not a typo. September is here and in full force here in Toronto, and looking back on what I thought was going to be a great year... didn't turn out so hot. In retrospect, it seems like it was just one shitstorm after another. Meh. It's not over yet, I should save this morose babble for December.
Despite the tone of this post so far, I'm actually in a good mood. Tomorrow is Friday, I can actually do something this weekend, and I'm getting a 32GB iPhone 3GS, unlocked and jailbroken on Wednesday. For cheap. Thanks to the_shard. As much as I'm not an Apple fanboy, I do want an iPhone. Especially a 32GB one. Especially one that can handle iOS 4. I think I've heard talk that 4 is fairly laggy on a 3GS, but 4.1 has already been jailbroken (or is about to be), so it won't hurt to try it out in the near future.
Today I got to play with an iPad for a bit, and for a gadget that I swore I'd never need, I sure was enamored with the thing. It's feels more solid than I thought it would, and it's very smooth to touch your way around the OS. I'd love to have one for laying back in bed and poking around the web or watching downloaded stuff. My issue with it is that it's so niche. I can't imagine carrying it around with me because I'd still want to have my laptop; I don't see much utility or practicality in the iPad. And for something with such a niche application, it's a little pricey.
Enough of the rambling. I have a cup of Earl Grey black and green and I'm going to lay back and continue with my marathon of The Wire.
